Night time River Floating

Allow the gentle flow of the icy river to carry you away as you simply enjoy the ride. Floating in these serene waters is an incredibly relaxing experience. Let go of your everyday worries and look up to admire the countless stars in the night sky. This tranquil journey will leave you with lasting memories for a lifetime!

The adventure starts at our Safarihouse at the centre of Ruka Village. After getting a floating suit, a life jacket and a helmet our guide takes you to the beautiful rapid Kiveskoski. After the safety instructions we go into the inviting stream of clear water. You get to float twice for the duration of 15 minutes in the slowly drifting river.

A warm drink will be served after the floating.

This is definitely a bucket list thing you need to experience at least once in the wintertime.

Please note, that a minimum height of 150 cm is required for safety reasons. This is an all year round activity.

Minimum group size on this excursion is 4 adults. Registration for the activity must be done by 4 p.m. on the previous day.

If we are unable to reach the minimum size by 4 p.m. the previous day, the excursion will be cancelled and payment will be refunded.

All safaris begin and end at Rukapalvelu Safarihouse. 

We provide all the necessary equipment for the program. We recommend wearing your own outdoor-friendly clothes/woolen base layers, on top of which we will provide a winter suit, wool socks, winter boots, gloves, a balaclava, a flotation suit, a life jacket, and a helmet. We are happy to provide more information on suitable clothing.
