Come and meet the reindeer just like the locals do! You’ll get to see and experience these treasured animals up close – feed them, stroke their soft muzzles, and join them for a peaceful walk in the forest.
At the same time, you’ll hear fascinating stories about how the reindeer livelihood was born and how it has been carried on from one generation to the next, still alive and well today in Kuusamo. Told by a local host, reindeer herding comes to life in an authentic and heartfelt way. After, relax by an open fire and savor traditional campfire snacks before the return transportation back to Ruka.
This visit is an unforgettable experience for the whole family – calm, warm, and filled with authenticity.
