Winter Cottage Holiday in Kiviniemi – Sauna, Hot Tub & Winter Activities

Enjoy a peaceful 2–7-night winter holiday at Kiviniemi, a traditional Finnish log cottage on the shore of Lake Soukkio in Kangasniemi, Finnish Lakeland. This winter package is designed for up to 4 guests.

Kiviniemi is fully heated and suitable for comfortable year-round stays. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living areas and an electric sauna. A large fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere on winter evenings, making the cottage especially inviting after a day outdoors.

A highlight of Kiviniemi is the separate lakeside sauna building with a traditional wood-heated sauna, shower and a warm fireplace room with underfloor heating and lake views.

The peaceful lakeside setting has little light pollution. On favourable nights, the Northern Lights may occasionally be visible, but they cannot be guaranteed.

The hot tub, firewood and all listed winter equipment are available throughout your entire stay, from check-in to check-out, with no separate rental charge.

Explore the snowy surroundings on snowshoes, relax by the fire or try ice fishing on the frozen lake. Kick sleds and children’s sledges are ready to use whenever conditions are suitable.

When conditions permit, an approximately 3 km classic cross-country skiing trail is prepared on the lake. Ski equipment is not included.

After a day outdoors, heat the lakeside sauna, take a refreshing dip in the ice hole and relax in the hot tub under the winter sky.

Snowmobile rental can be arranged separately, subject to availability and suitable snow conditions.

A husky safari can be booked directly with Sawo Husky in Suonenjoki, approximately 100 km / 1 h 15–30 min by car. The safari is not included in the package.

Winter season: 3 January–31 March 2027. Stays of 2–7 nights.

Shopping: The nearest grocery store is about 20 km away.

Winter driving & rental car: A car is recommended. Roads to the cottage are plowed and maintained during winter, but winter driving requires care. Rental cars in Finland are equipped for winter conditions. Rock and Lake guests can use a special Hertz rental car discount; ask us for the discount code before booking.

Pets: Pets are allowed at Kiviniemi.

Winter conditions: Snow and ice conditions vary. Ice swimming and activities on the frozen lake are available only when conditions are safe.
