Winter Cottage Holiday – Sauna, Hot Tub & Winter Activities

Enjoy a peaceful 2–7-night winter holiday in your own private lakeside cottage in Kangasniemi, Finnish Lakeland.

The cottage is fully heated and equipped for year-round stays. It offers 160 m², 4 bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living areas and a private wood-heated sauna.

The setting is quiet and private: the nearest neighbouring cottage is about 200 metres away, with forest in between. There is very little light pollution, so winter nights can be beautifully dark and clear.

On favourable nights, the Northern Lights may occasionally be visible, but they cannot be guaranteed.

The hot tub, firewood and all listed winter equipment are available from check-in to check-out with no separate rental charge. Equipment quantities apply per cottage booking.

Enjoy winter at your own pace

Take the snowshoes to a nearby campfire spot, explore the snowy forest or try ice fishing on the frozen lake. The kick sleds and children's sledges are also ready to use.

When conditions permit, an approximately 3 km classic cross-country skiing trail is prepared on the lake. Ski equipment is not included.

After a day outdoors, warm up in the sauna, take a refreshing dip in the ice hole or relax in the hot tub under the winter sky.

Optional experiences – extra charge

Snowmobile rental can be arranged separately, subject to availability and suitable snow conditions.

A husky safari can be booked directly with Sawo Husky in Suonenjoki, approximately 100 km / 1 h 15–30 min by car. The safari is not included in the package.

Winter season: 3 January–31 March 2027. Stays of 2–7 nights.

Accommodation: Your booking includes one cottage, either Villa Soukkio or Villa Lempi, depending on availability. The villas are very similar in size, layout, equipment and quality. Both are 160 m², have 4 bedrooms and accessible ground floors.

Shopping: The nearest grocery store is about 20 km away.

Winter driving & rental car: A car is recommended. Roads to the cottages are plowed and maintained during winter, but driving in snow and icy conditions requires care. Rental cars in Finland are equipped for winter conditions. Rock and Lake guests can use a special Hertz rental car discount; ask us for the discount code before booking.

Winter conditions: Snow and ice conditions vary. Ice swimming and activities on the frozen lake are available only when conditions are safe.
