Welcome to a traditional Finnish evening.
The evening is completely private, and the entire venue is reserved just for your group. Your host will be present throughout the evening, taking care of everything. The experience begins with a delicious flame-grilled salmon dinner, after which you can head to the sauna for some relaxation. After the sauna, your host will have late night snacks ready in the cozy kota. If you wish, you can order alcoholic beverages.
Smoke sauna, also known as ”savusauna” in Finnish, is a traditional type of sauna that holds a special place in the hearts of many people in Northern Europe. Unlike modern saunas that utilize electric wood-burning stoves, a smoke sauna relies on an ancient and unique method to generate heat and steam.
One of the most captivating aspects of the smoke sauna is the ambiance it offers. The dim lighting and earthy smell of burning wood create an atmosphere that feels deeply connected to nature and tradition. Many people find the experience meditative and spiritually rejuvenating. For this reason, the smoke sauna is often considered a sacred space where ancient customs and rituals are still observed today.
For many Finns, the smoke sauna has deep cultural and social significance. It has historically been a gathering place for families and communities to come together, sharing stories, traditions and laughter. And one of the best parts of the sauna is that there are no phones. After a relaxing session in the sauna, you can cool down by taking a dip in the ice hole or relaxing in the hot tub.
