Meet & Feed Reindeer in Sodankylä with Traditional Lappish Lunch, SISU

Experience the authentic lifestyle of a Lapland reindeer herder on this unique cultural adventure in Sodankylä, Finnish Lapland. Combining traditional Arctic culture, ethical reindeer encounters, local cuisine, and genuine northern hospitality, this immersive experience offers visitors a rare opportunity to discover the true heart of Lapland beyond the typical tourist attractions. Activity includes a pick up from Noa Villas reception and return to the same place as well.

Your adventure begins with a scenic snowmobile sleigh ride through the snow-covered wilderness of Finnish Lapland. Surrounded by pristine Arctic landscapes, you will travel to a family-run reindeer farm where hundreds of reindeer roam freely in their natural environment.

Upon arrival, you will meet and feed the reindeer while learning about the centuries-old traditions of reindeer herding, Arctic survival, and everyday life in Lapland. Your local host will share fascinating stories about the region's culture, history, and the important role reindeer continue to play in northern communities. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet the farm's friendly dogs and experience authentic rural Lapland life.

Unlike traditional reindeer sled rides, this experience includes a peaceful guided forest walk alongside reindeer, allowing for closer interaction with the animals and a deeper connection with Arctic nature. This unique activity provides exceptional opportunities for photography and unforgettable memories in the tranquil Lapland wilderness. You will also learn to throw a traditional reindeer herder's lasso, an important skill used in reindeer work for generations.

Following your outdoor activities, enjoy a traditional homemade Arctic lunch prepared by local hosts. The menu includes homemade reindeer delicacies, a hearty reindeer herder's meat soup served with fresh rieska bread and butter, and a delicious dessert featuring berry pie and homemade cookies. This meal offers a true taste of Finnish Lapland's culinary traditions.

Perfect for families, couples, photographers, nature lovers, and cultural travelers, this experience provides an unforgettable insight into the traditions, wildlife, and hospitality that make Lapland one of the world's most extraordinary destinations.
