Step into the real world of Sámi reindeer herding with an experience unlike any traditional reindeer farm. Here, the reindeer live freely in their natural forest habitat, roaming the wilderness as they have for generations. There are no fences, no leashes, and no performances—only a genuine encounter based on respect for the animals and their natural behaviour.
Together with a local Sámi reindeer herder, you'll venture into the peaceful forest where the herd gathers naturally for supplementary feeding. You are welcome to feed the reindeer yourself, and if they choose to come close, you may even gently touch them. Every interaction happens on the reindeer's terms, creating a truly ethical and unforgettable experience.
As you walk through the snowy forest or across a frozen lake, the curious reindeer may quietly follow, offering magical moments that feel completely natural. Surrounded by silence and untouched Arctic landscapes, you'll experience the rhythm of life in the Far North, where there is no rush and no clock.
The experience concludes in a traditional Sámi lavvu, gathered around an open fire with warm drinks and local treats. This intimate moment is a chance to hear authentic stories from a real reindeer herder, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of Sámi culture, traditions, and the lifelong bond between people and reindeer.
This is not a show—it's an invitation into a way of life that has shaped Lapland for centuries.
