Kuukkeli Aurora Laanila Cabin - Jaspis

Jaspis (Jasper) cabin is a renovated and refurnished property approx. 6 km from the center of Saariselkä, in the Hangasoja holiday cottage area. In addition to the peaceful location, the feeling of the wilderness is enhanced by the small fell river Hangasoja flowing right in front of the cottage, which has even in winter open spring for carrying water into cottage. There is no running water in the cottage or sauna, other than by carrying it by yourself from open spring.

The cottage´s spacious living room has a fireplace and a dining set. The sofa can be spread out for bed. The sleeping spaces are two separate sleeping alcoves, separated from the other rooms by curtains, and each alcove has new beds for two. Above the sleeping alcoves is a low loft with a slanted ceiling and two mattresses. A steep staircase leads to the loft.

The separate kitchen has all the necessary equipment for cooking and a drain for dishwater. The water from the spring can be used as household water such as for washing dishes, but it is recommended to bring own drinking water separately. The use of spring water other than domestic water is on the customer's own responsibility. The cottage has an electrically operated flush toilet. There is also an electrically heated sauna in the same building, but the washing water must be heated in a wood-fired cauldron.

There is a camp fire spot in the yard and electrical heating poles for two cars in the cottage's parking lot (approx. 100 m). The customer take care themselves of the snow work between the parking area and the cottage. The accommodation rate includes bed linen, towels, firewood and after-stay cleaning. The Saariselkä area's excellent ski tracks network, slalom skiing and snowboarding slopes, winter walking and hiking trails to UK Park are a short car ride away.
