Experience the essence of Finnish cottage living at Jaspis cabin, nestled along the tranquil Hangasoja River amidst nature. Ideal for self-catering holidays, enjoy a traditional retreat without unnecessary modern comforts, yet just a short drive from local services.

The Jaspis (Jasper) cabin is a renovated and refurnished property located approximately 6 km from the center of Saariselkä, in the Hangasoja holiday cottage area.

In addition to its peaceful location, the wilderness ambiance is enhanced by the small fell river Hangasoja flowing right in front of the cottage. Even in winter, there is an open spring for carrying water into the cottage.

Suitable for self-catering holidays, without unnecessary modern comforts.

Please note: There is no running water in the cottage or sauna, other than by carrying it yourself from an open spring.

The cottage's living room features a fireplace and dining set, with a sofa convertible into a bed. Sleeping arrangements include two separate alcoves with new twin beds, each sectioned off by curtains. Above, a low-roofed loft offers additional sleeping space with two mattresses, accessible via a steep staircase.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking and includes a dishwater drain. Spring water serves for household purposes like dishwashing, though bringing separate drinking water is advisable. The use of spring water for non-domestic purposes is the guest's responsibility. An electric flush toilet is provided, alongside an electric sauna in the same building. However, water for washing must be heated in a wood-fired cauldron.

There is a campfire spot in the yard and electrical heating poles for two cars in the cottage's parking lot (approximately 100 m away). Customers are responsible for clearing snow between the parking area and the cottage themselves.

The accommodation rate includes bed linen, towels, firewood and after-stay cleaning. The Saariselkä area's excellent ski tracks network, slalom skiing and snowboarding slopes, winter walking and hiking trails to UK Park are a short car ride away.
