The Lady of the House Dinner

Lady of the House Dinner is a hosted historical dining experience at Langin Kauppahuone, a carefully restored Merchant House in the old wooden town of Raahe on the northern coast of Finland.

Gather around the table as a welcome guest in a nineteenth-century merchant house, where Finnish hospitality, seasonal food and stories are shared much as they have been for generations.

Hosted by the Lady of the House, guests are welcomed into the candlelit dining rooms of Langin Kauppahuone, where historic interiors, seasonal table settings and the rhythm of a slower age create a memorable setting for the evening.

Inspired by the traditions of merchant families on Finland's northern coast, the dinner highlights local ingredients, seasonal flavours and dishes rooted in regional food culture. The menu varies according to the season and available ingredients, allowing each visit to reflect the time of year.

Throughout the evening, the Lady of the House shares stories of the people who once lived here, the traditions of the merchant household and everyday life in Old Raahe, allowing conversation, food and history to unfold naturally around the table.
