Discover winter on Finland's frozen northern coast.
This guided experience introduces guests to the traditions, stories and landscapes of coastal winter life in Old Raahe.
Your journey begins at Lang Heritage Resort, where you meet your guide before travelling by snowmobile sleigh towards the archipelago. The ride takes approximately 20–30 minutes each way and offers a unique opportunity to experience the quiet beauty of the winter coastline.
Among the sheltered islands of the archipelago, guests can walk on the frozen sea and learn how generations of coastal families adapted their lives to the changing seasons. Depending on weather and ice conditions, there may also be an opportunity to try traditional Finnish ice fishing.
The experience concludes around an open fire, where coffee is prepared in a traditional pot over the flames and served with a freshly baked Finnish sweet bun. While enjoying the warmth of the fire, guests hear stories of life by the sea, maritime traditions and the people whose lives were shaped by the frozen coast.
This is a gentle cultural experience that combines nature, heritage and authentic Finnish winter traditions.
