The chalet is inspired by Lakeaharju in Vimpeli, the elevated rim of the Lappajärvi impact crater.
During the meteorite impact 78 million years ago, the crater rim rose more than 500 meters above the crater floor. Today it stands about 100 meters above the surface of Lake Lappajärvi, guarding the crater lake from above.
From Lakeaharju and its observation tower, breathtaking views unfold. It is an ideal location for photographing sunsets. The area offers hiking and cross-country skiing trails, outdoor fitness stairs, a disc golf course and Lakis Arena, the heart of local events. In winter, the crater rim transforms into the slopes of Lakis ski resort.
