The chalet draws inspiration from Uittomieskämppä in Jokisuunlahti, Evijärvi, built to honor the log driving tradition and the demanding work of log drivers.
The Ähtävänjoki River, flowing through the region, served for centuries as an important connection to the sea. Timber was floated downstream and tar transported to the coast. Completed in 2017, Uittomieskämppä is a lively meeting place that reflects the culture of historic log driving. Log driving demonstrations are held there, and the cabin can be reserved for events and group visits.
