Private Smoke Sauna & Northern Lake Experience

Experience the gentle heat of an authentic Finnish smoke sauna exclusively with your own group in the peaceful lakeside surroundings of House of Northern Senses, only about 15 minutes from Ruka.

Our traditional smoke sauna is slowly heated with wood and located on the shore of the fell lake Pikku Porontima. Step directly from the sauna into the fresh lake water throughout the year – and into an ice hole in winter.

Your three-hour private session gives you plenty of time to enjoy the sauna, swim, cool down and spend unhurried time together. The smoke sauna and its surroundings are reserved exclusively for your group throughout the experience.

The experience is designed for 1–10 guests. Groups of up to 12 guests may be possible by separate request.

What to bring
Please bring your own swimwear. Swimming and winter ice swimming are undertaken according to each guest's own health and swimming ability.

Food, drinks & transfers

Complete your private sauna experience with a pre-ordered Sauna Menu, available to select when making your booking.

Bringing your own drinks is not permitted. Soft drinks, non-alcoholic options and alcoholic beverages are available to purchase on site.

The House of Northern Senses Lounge Bar is available for sauna guests before and after the sauna when the house is not reserved for private use. Enjoy a drink and relax by the fireplace before or after your sauna experience.

Transfers from the Ruka area or Kuusamo and additional meals can be arranged in advance. Special drink requests, such as Champagne, can also be pre-ordered.

Please arrive at the House of Northern Senses main building 15 minutes before your private sauna session begins.
