Tölting along frosty forest paths, riding in the light of the moon and experiencing a magical sledge ride –this is a winter dream come true. After invigorating days in the saddle, retreat to the warmth of FURU’s mirror-glass cabins, where nature’s quiet stillness reflected all around you.
This is an exclusive experience designed for only four guests, ensuring a highly tailored adventure with personal connections to the people and places that make this journey special.
Day 1 – Arrival & Joint dinner
Your adventure starts the moment you arrive and check in to your mirror-glass cabin from 4 PM.
Learn how Norwegians make fire (a practical skill for heating up the hot tub and your fireplace) and get an introduction to snow shoeing. You can use the snowshoes throughout your stay for exploring the forest.
We meet for a cozy dinner at the “Little Black House” only a few steps from the cabins. Friederike will share her vision behind FURU, introduce the Norwegian art and design in the cabins, and cooperations with local farms and associations.
Day 2 – Ride & Sleigh ride
Start the day with breakfast in your cabin.
We drive to Mesna and saddle up for our first two-hour ride through snowy forests and mountains. Experience the unique tölt – the smooth gait of the Icelandic horse.
Following the tour, a light lunch in the old barn is perfect for hearing from Camilla and Kristoffer the story behind the farm and their work.
When the sky turns colorful, we go for a sledge ride along Mesna lake – enjoy gliding peacefully through the snowy forest.
In the evening, we gather at the “Little Black House” for a dinner featuring local specialties – perfect for exchanging stories from the day’s adventure.
Day 3 – Ride & Moonlight ride
Wake up to breakfast from the breakfast basket, then head out for a two-hour ride in the crisp morning air. As you grow familiar with the horses and the rhythm of the landscape, the day unfolds with brisk canters and serene beauty.
Return to your mirror cabin for a relaxing soak in the hot tub and a hearty, warming lunch.
After sunset, we set off on an evening ride. Under the moon and stars, the snowy landscape takes on a calm, magical atmosphere—an experience that stays with you long after the ride ends.
Day 4 – Ride & Sauna
After breakfast and packing your luggage (we’ll take care of transporting it back to Mesna), it's time to saddle up for another ride.
Today’s route offers exhilarating canters on snowy forest roads. The horses are perfectly adapted to the landscape, giving you a true sense of freedom and connection with nature.
Back at Mesna, we gather for a cozy farewell lunch in the barn.
Close this adventure with a relaxing session in the sauna. Unwind and let the warmth ease your muscles while you reflect on the past days’ adventures. For a refreshing finish, roll in fresh snow – a refreshing experience you will tell everyone about.
