FURU Adventure: Luxurious ride through Norway's wild beauty

This is more than just a riding tour—this is a journey into Norway’s breathtaking wilderness. Imagine galloping across rolling pine-covered hills, crossing mountain streams, and tölting effortlessly on winding forest roads. After long days in the saddle, unwind in luxurious FURU mirror-glass cabins, where nature is reflected all around you.

This is an exclusive experience designed for only four guests, ensuring a highly tailored adventure with personal connections to the people and places that make this journey special.

Day 1 – Arrival & Joint dinner

Your adventure starts the moment you arrive and check in to your mirror-glass cabin from 4 PM.

At sunset take a walk around the property with Friederike, discovering the old forest on the hill and learn about plants and animals in the surroundings.

We close the day with a cozy dinner at the “Little Black House” only a few steps from the cabins. Here you will have the chance to hear more about the vision behind FURU, learn about the guest artists and Norwegian design in the cabins, and cooperations with local farms.

Day 2 – Ride & Hot tub

Start the day with breakfast in your cabin. We drive to Mesna, where you will get to know the horses and will be welcomed by Camilla and Kristoffer, who will share the story behind the place and their work.

We saddle up for our first half-day ride through forests and mountains. Experience the unique tölt – the smooth gait of the Icelandic horse.

During a break, the horses rest and graze while we enjoy a light packed lunch. Along forest roads, we continue our ride until we arrive at the mirror cabins. You can unwind with a soak in the wood-fired hot tub while taking in the calm of the evening.

Later, we gather at the “Little Black House” for a dinner featuring local specialties – perfect for exchanging stories from the day’s adventure.

Day 3 - Full-Day Ride

After breakfast we head out for a full-day ride exploring surrounding hills and forests. Enjoy long stretches of tölt on forest roads, gliding smoothly through the terrain.

Pause at a secluded spot for a campfire break, where you’ll relax, sip something warm, and enjoy a packed lunch around the fire. The ride finishes back at the cabins, where you can unwind in the hot tub before gathering for a joint dinner at the “little black house”, sharing stories and enjoying a meal together.

Day 4 – Ride & Sauna

After breakfast and packing your luggage (we’ll take care of transporting it back to Mesna), it's time to saddle up for another half-day ride.

Today’s route offers long tölt stretches and fast, exhilarating canters through varied terrain.

Back at Mesna, we gather for a farewell lunch in the barn. Close this adventure with a relaxing session in the sauna. Unwind and let the warmth ease your muscles while you reflect on the past days’ experiences. For a refreshing finish, take a dip in the lake – the perfect way to recharge before the journey home.
